Caesar Augustus, my faithful canine companion – gone to the five elements

Here is the text of Rani’s post to Facebook honoring the memory of Caesar:

Caesar Augustus 1-19-2002 to 5-15-2014 our sweet Red Miniature Pincher is no longer with us. Due to diabetes complications we could not stand by and watch him suffer so we had him put to sleep. It was one of the hardest things we have had to do but to stop Caesar’s suffering it had to be done. We did not have days or weeks to plan, we had to make the decision as we sat in the vet’s office.
Caesar lived up to his name, he was always the ‘Alpha’ male who had a very strong sense of who he was. He cowered for no one. He gave his absolute all in love and made you his universe. He caused you to focus your love, faith and trust in him. He was without a doubt the best deal we made when we said “Yes we will take him and his brother Merlin”
There are so many good things to say about our ‘rascal’ Caesar. For those of us who had the opportunity to know and love him, he has make us better humans, he may not be with us in the physical but he will always be in our hearts and mind.
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.” Josh Billings
“The only creatures that are evolved enough to convey pure love are dogs and infants.” Johnny Depp
“A dog reflects the family life. Whoever saw a frisky dog in a gloomy family, or a sad dog in a happy one? Arthur Conan Doyle
“The better I get to know men, the more I find myself loving dogs.” Charles de Gaulle
“Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole.” Roger A. Caras
“The average dog is a nicer person than the average person.” Andy Rooney
“The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven not man’s.” Mark Twain
